Raj Restaurant (Raj) was founded on very strong principles encompassing vegetarianism, the beliefs, and practices of vegetarians. The word ‘vegetarian’ comes from the Latin word ‘vegetus,’ meaning whole, sound, and fresh. True to its founding principles, wholesome, sound, and the freshest ingredients are used in magical mixes, by some of the most talented and experienced chefs to bring you some of the most delectable vegetarian food from the Southern and Northern parts of India. For most of its existence, Raj has been specializing in South Indian cuisine. The recent introduction of a wide variety of ‘chaats’ prepared by some immensely talented chefs, has added to the variety of delectable vegetarian fare offered at Raj.
At Raj, attention is also paid to the good health of our patrons. Only the best ingredients are used including healthy cooking oils such as sunflower oil, groundnut oil, sesame oil, and olive oil.
In our constant effort to promote vegetarianism to our wide spectrum of patrons, ranging from 5-year-olds to octogenarians, Raj also offers a range of salivating western vegetarian cuisine. This includes Raj’s famous vegetarian pizzas, prepared with pride and passion using the freshest of cheese, vegetables, and other ingredients.
It was founded by Sri M.S.K.Rajasubramanian in the year 1960 and was taken over by Mr. Jay S. Kamdar, the Managing Director & Chairman of Sun Group in 2019.
